About the band
Loud enough to move a crowd.
Soft enough to move you.
The Unplugged Band started the way most good things do: a few friends, a room full of instruments, and no plan beyond playing the songs they loved. Formed on 16 August 2021, that room turned into stages: monsoon festivals in Saputara, Navratri grounds, weddings, college fests and corporate nights across multiple cities.
Our set moves between three worlds. Bollywood for the singalongs everybody already knows. Gujarati folk for the moment the whole floor gets up. And fusion for the in-between, the unplugged, stripped-back arrangements that make a big room feel small and personal.

Rajat Lad
Lead Singer & Guitar
The voice out front and the guitar underneath it. Rajat carries the melody, and the room with it.
Vishal Patel
Musician
The utility player every band needs. Fills the gaps, holds the arrangement together, never misses a cue.
Kunjan Patel
Drummer
The engine room. Sets the tempo, breaks the drop, and decides how hard the night hits.
Aishan Mistry
Lead Percussionist
Dhol, octapad, congas: the reason a Gujarati folk set turns into an actual stampede.
Jay Patel
Guitarist / Bassist
Switches between riffs and rumble. Whatever the song needs, he's already holding the right instrument.
Dev Patel
Theater Keyboardist & Arranger
Writes the arrangements and paints the whole thing in: strings, pads, and the parts you feel but don't notice.

Where is The Unplugged Band based?
We are based in Valsad, Gujarat. We regularly play across South Gujarat including Vapi, Navsari, Surat, Daman, Silvassa and Bardoli, and we travel anywhere in India and overseas for destination events.
What kind of events do you play?
Weddings and sangeet nights, Navratri and garba nights, corporate events and annual days, private parties, college festivals and cafe sets. Every setlist is built around the event and the crowd.
What music does the band play?
Three worlds: live Bollywood from retro to current chart-toppers, Gujarati folk including garba, raas and lagna geet driven by live dhol and percussion, and fusion or unplugged arrangements for the quieter moments.
How many musicians are in the band?
Nine or more, including vocals, guitars, bass, keys, drums and percussion, plus a rotating cast of guest musicians. The line-up scales to the size of your event.
Do you bring your own sound and setup?
Yes. Sound and setup are sorted as part of the booking, whether it is a full high-energy production or a stripped-back acoustic set.
